Express: 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U & 12U.
Fishers High School and HSE High School have their own travel teams at 13U & 14U.
The Fishers High School (13U and 14U teams) remain under Mudsock Youth Baseball.
What group does my child fit into?
Express follows the USSSA Rules for age requirements. Please see the link below to check what age group your child falls under: https://v10.usssa.com/baseball/AgeCalculator/
How many teams are typically in each age group?
We usually have 1-2 teams at 7U & 8U. Then 2-3 teams at 9U, 10U, 11U & 12U. We will form as many teams as we are able, while ensuring each team has enough pitching and catching to remain competitive.
What is a typical schedule?
Winter workouts start in January and run through mid-March. These are held once per week at MOJO UP fieldhouse. Outdoor practices begin as soon as the City of Fishers opens the fields, which is usually towards the end of March. The tournament season typically runs March through early July. Most teams play an average of 8-10 tournaments during that March-July timeframe. On top of the tournament schedule, most teams typically practice 1-2 times per week.
What is the typical cost per player?
Typical cost per player is around $700 - $1,000 + uniforms ($200 - $300). Total cost per player will depend on how many tournaments each team participates in and any team fundraising.
Where do most teams travel?
Most of our tournaments are played at Grand Park, Noblesville's Field of Dreams & Yorktown Sports Park. Other popular tournament sites are Center Grove, Zionsville, Whitestown, Bloomington & Columbus. Teams do have the ability to travel out of state, should they choose to do so. We do host (1) tournament at Billericay called 'Battle at the Bill' in late June.
What level do Express teams typically play?
The top (Red) team in each age group typically will register and play in 'AA' or 'AAA' (open) level tournaments. The 2nd team (White) in each age group will typically register and play as 'AA'. The 3rd team will usually play in 'A' or 'AA'. All depending on age and experience of the players.
Do all players have to live in HSE School District?
All Express players must live in the HSE School District.
How many players are typically on each team?
Each team typically has 11-12 players.
Are lessons required?
Lessons are not required at any level, however outside pitching/hitting lessons are recommended for pitchers in all age groups. Some teams decide to get a group rate at one of the local training facilities.
Are there rules on playing time?
There are no rules on playing time. Coaches have discretion in determining playing time and positions. We encourage coaches to keep time as equal as possible while being competitive and developing players in multiple positions.
