When is Spring baseball season?
Spring season runs from late March thru early/late June depending on the league. Opening Day at Billericay Park is scheduled for April 26th, 2025.
Do I need to attend Spring evaluations?
Please read the following carefully, as we've made changes to the evaluation requirements for Spring 2025 compared to previous seasons.
No evaluation needed:
Players in the 5U, 6U, 14U, or High School divisions do not need to attend evaluations.
No evaluation needed for second-year spring players: Second-year spring players in the 8U, 10U, or 12U divisions do not need to attend evaluations.
Evaluation required for first-year spring players:
First-year players in the 8U, 10U, or 12U divisions must attend evaluations. If your child is in one of these divisions this spring and has never played in that division before in a spring season, they will need to attend evaluations.
The league will use data received from coaches in past seasons to ensure balanced teams.
What equipment do I need?
Each player must have their own baseball glove, baseball cleats and baseball pants. The league will provide bats, helmets, baseballs and first aid kits. Players are welcome to use their own bat and helmet. A baseball jersey, hat, and socks are included with your registration fee.
Effective spring 2021, any USA Certified Bat may be used in rec league play. USSSA Bats are not allowed for use in rec league play. A link to approved bats which may be used in rec league game play can be found here.
What is the time commitment?
In general, your team will meet 2-3 times per week, including a weekday or two and Saturday. Games run 60-120 minutes depending on age group. Your coach may hold optional practices during the week as schedules allow and as fields are available.
Do you offer travel baseball?
Yes! We offer travel baseball for ages 7U through 14U. Tryouts are generally held in July. For more information, please see the travel information packet.
